A 3rd party in a motor accident denies being involved , what should I do?

After admitting liability for an accident and exchanging insurance details, it transpires that the 3rd party has given me a false vehicle registration number and denies driving into me. He has subsequently traded the car involved in the accident in. Any help would be massively appreciated
